Don’t panic please!

I am STILL committed to die-cutting, and free videos, and posting tutorials.  I’m even committed to selling supplies.  Just not from this site.  It seems that my business has grown so big so fast, that I have to shrink in order to grow!

Were you aware that my actual business name is LoveBug Studios, and that I am also a long arm quilter?

Last year, I thought it made sense to separate my die-cutting and quilting activities into two separate sites.  I created two separate blogs, two different types of shops, two different business cards, and started creating content under both names.

This confuses the heck out of people! I recently went to Quilt Market (THE trade show for the quilting industry) and quickly realized that if I started talking about two different companies and handing out two different sets of business cards, I would come off like a freak.

Bottom line, I just have too many websites to maintain, and it no longer makes sense to maintain this one.  Quilt Possible was simply a great idea for the wrong person. 

Here is what I am going to be working on over the next month:

1. MOVING all my die-cutting posts on the blog to my LoveBug Studios blog.
2. MOVING all my die-cutting reference charts & other information to LoveBug Studios.
3. MOVING my shop to Artfire.com or Etsy.com (every time I think I’ve made a decision on that, I change my mind!)
4. ORGANIZING the LoveBug Studios site so that the die cutting information is easy to find.
5. CONSOLIDATING mailing lists so that I only have one newsletter to publish.

I hope you are also aware that I publish a magazine called Blocks to Die For.  Shutting down Quilt Possible has ZERO effect on the magazine.  Even though BTDF grew initially out of Quilt Possible, it really is its own entity and is thriving quite well that way.  In addition, my videos are always posted on YouTube, and they will remain free (as long as you can put up with a few ads.)

My hope is that by consolidating these two websites, I actually provide a BETTER experience for you.  Having only one blog to maintain means that you get to see posts more often, you’re linked in with my latest tutorials, and you get insight into the entire process of making a quilt that starts with accurate cutting and ends with beautiful quilting.

Because our die library is so large (over 400 dies, and growing monthly), and our fabric selection so varied, we do not generally stock pre-cut shapes.  If any are available, they can be found in our “Fabric & Kits” section.

Prices vary depending on the shape, number of pieces, fabric choice, and application of fusible (if needed.)  A rough estimate for die cut shapes is between $0.10 and $1.00 each.

Drunk in Indonesia finishes at 56″ x 60″, and includes instructions for rotary cutting as well as most major die cutting systems. This pattern has a slightly higher level of difficulty, but confident beginners should be able to manage it.

This 11-page pattern is fully illustrated, and contains full-size templates and material lists for finishing the quilt in 3 sizes.

Purchasing this pattern entitles you to exclusive web content on QuiltPossible.com where you’ll find videos, tips, and behind-the-scenes details from the designer. A password is provided within the pattern directions.

Included in the kit is a blue heart, plus 4″ tall letters I, B, t, D, and F. All shapes are pre-fused with Misty Fuse, and are ready for you to applique to any project.

As a bonus, you’ll also receive a cool non-woven tote bag! The bag measures 18″ wide by 14″ tall with 24″ handles. There is a front pocket with the Blocks to Die For logo imprinted, and it also has a hook & loop closure.

This card set contains 40 cards, including instructions, two wildcards, and various Quiltspirations in seven categories.

Premium, full-color cards come wrapped in a reusable soft gel gift case.

You provide the fabric, and we will cut your material for you.  See the Preparation Instructions for information on preparing your fabric prior to mailing.

The letters are proportional, meaning they will always be 4″ tall, but the width will vary based on the letter (so “M” is wider than “I”.) This is an important consideration if you are trying to fit your letters into a specific space.

Pricing is per letter. Once you purchase this service, you will be contacted with further instructions.

You’ll make the best use of your rental time if you prepare your fabrics in advance, but you are welcome to use our professional steam generator and large cutting table while you are here. You may also purchase fusible web from us if you are preparing fusible applique. Most dies cut multiple shapes at once, up to 10 layers (depending on die & material), so your cutting projects are easy and fast!

Your rental time entitles you to use any of the more than 200 dies in our shop. To see our die availability, please consult the Die Cutting Services category to see a list of available dies.  Once you pay your rental fee, you’ll be contacted to arrange a time to use the Studio.

Your first hour covers a $5.00 material fee. If you’ve never used the Studio before, please arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early for a brief training session.

The three colors (cream, grey, navy) are also perfect for piecing. Use the cream for mostly light colors, navy blue when working with darker colors & black, and the grey when working with mostly mid-tones. Unlike garment construction, it is not necessary to match your threads exactly to your project! Choose your color when you add to your cart.

Each spool contains 218 yards (200 m) of 50/2 Aurifil Cotton Mako thread. Imported from Italy.

In this kit, you will receive enough kite shapes to make approximately a 34″ x 34″ quilt.  You will receive 64 kites shapes cut from luscious Kona Cotton by Robert Kaufman, and 64 half-square triangle foundations from unbleached muslin. This will make 16 blocks, which you can assemble in a 4×4 grid to make an exciting spider web quilt!

All shapes have been professionally die cut. When you add it to your cart, please specify the color of the kites you would like.
